These are my pets - Melody (the dog) and Amadeus (the cat). They are very different creatures, besides the obvious. Amadeaus is almost 15 years old and Melody is about 11. Melody was a rescued dog and Amadeus was picked out from a litter by my daughter. Melody likes to run around, while Amadeus would rather move quietly. Amadeus only wants his special brand of cat food and Melody will eat just about anything - including pizza crusts. There are some things that they are similar with - they both like to nap on soft blankets, they both like treats, and they both are good at making me happy. They also are pretty accepting of each other and will (sometimes) even lay next to each other.

“If
"If freckles were lovely, and day was night,
And measles were nice and a lie warn't a lie,
Life would be delight,--
But things couldn't go right
For in such a sad plight
I wouldn't be I.
If earth was heaven and now was hence,
And past was present, and false was true,
There might be some sense
But I'd be in suspense
For on such a pretense
You wouldn't be you.
If fear was plucky, and globes were square,
And dirt was cleanly and tears were glee
Things would seem fair,--
Yet they'd all despair,
For if here was there
We wouldn't be we.”

BIG change versus small change Big change can mean things that interrupt how you normally do things. This could be moving, closing school, a new baby in the family. Small change can mean things that disrupt something in your day, like you run out of your favorite cereal or the shirt you want to wear is dirty. Make a list of both big and small changes that you are having to cope with. Then answer these three questions: 1 - how did you feel when the big change took place? (was it exciting or full of anxiety? something else?) 2 - how did you feel about the small changes? 3 - what is something you did to accept the big change? |
